My band are just about to release a new single Chazza said excitedly to his friend. Chazza's band had been signed for a while, but the idea of people hearing his music still excited him. "What is it called?" asked his friend Roy. "Well its a new type of single, called a dating single. It doesn't have a set name yet, because it needs to be something that encompasses the originality and freshness of the concept of the single." Roy blinked at his friend, he hated it when Chazza used new words. "Whats the new origional fresh doodlesquit thing about it then?" Chazza grinned and leaned closer "It contains subliminal messages to help people find a date!" came the triumphant whisper. At his friends confused look, Chazza continued to explain. "It's called a dating single because the subliminal messages in the songmake your brain think that you are really good at dating. It contains words and thoughts said at a high frequency and pitch, so it is only heard by your subconscious." He glanced at his friend expecting lots of congratulations for his brillient idea. Roy still looked confused, even more so than before. Chazza sighed and started to explain again. "The biggest worry in our fans lives isa lack of boy or girlfriend." started Chazza "So we are helping them out with our track by suggesting to their brain that they want to be in a couple, and are capable of finding 'the one'" The idea is that the brain will then turn these thoughts into actions and make it easier for the fan to find mr or mrs right." He paused for breath here, but carried on quickly before Roy could interrupt. "The dating single includes phrases about love and sex and partners. It contains words to conjure up the scent of a certain sexy aroma, and places images of perfect partnership in the listeners mind. It's hard to explain, but I think it will be a massive hit!". Roy didn't look convinced, and looked like he was wondering if Chazza was teasing him and had made the whole dating single concept up. He was very worried therefore when he saw in his local music store a few weeks later,shelves upon shelves of the new single were there, with lots of excited fans - mostly female excitedly trying to grab their own copy. Roy shook his head "It will never work. Theworld's gone mad" hesaid to himself as he walked away from the shop.
